Meet Recap: Abigail is your 2025 Powerlifting America 63kg bronze medalist! The goal on the day was a podium finish, and after the dust settled, Abigail was able to secure 3rd place in a 3 way tie on total, winning on bodyweight. She rounded out the day with a 347lb. squat, 237lb. bench press, and a 473lb. deadlift for a 1,058lb. total! We honestly were not entirely sure what to expect on the day, as the external variables of the past 5 weeks were about as rough as they get. Bench in particular had taken a big hit from the prior block due to getting sick and then a crazy work schedule, and just a week out was struggling with 102.5-105kg. Due to that we lowered the plan on bench by a good margin, but as can be seen, Abigail absolutely crushed it on the day and likely had 112.5kg. We knew Abigail’s deadlift typically shows up in a big way on meet day, so played squat and bench somewhat conservative to make sure she was in a position to pull into that tie at 480kg. Abigail is a gamer, and came in clutch with that final pull for a big PR and to pull into that podium placing. It has barely been over a year since Abigail started competing, and to already be placing 4th and 3rd at her first 2 National meets is incredible. It is a blessing to be able to coach her and there are few in the sport that will outwork her.
