Meet Recap: Christiane competed at the USAPL Pro Finals, where she secured 3rd overall and a nice $5,000 check to round out $15,000 total in prize money this year! Christiane had arguably her best meet since the Arnold in 2023, and was able to hit or match PRs on all 3 lifts and come away with a nice 42lb. PR total. To round out those lifts, she finished with a 435lb. squat, 275lb. bench press, and a 413lb. deadlift! Simply enough, after Nationals Christiane made the choice to move up a weight class and that made all the difference. The 60kg class was becoming increasingly hard for her to cut to, added to that the late primetime sessions, and we lost about 10-15kg from what she was capable of in the gym at Nationals. Versus at the Pro Finals, she was able to display the full strength we saw in training, and some, with likely another 2.5kg in the tank on bench and deadlift. Going into the Pro Finals, we knew with a DOTS based meet that the jump in body weight, plus such a short turnaround to take advantage of that body weight increase, was going to make it tough placing wise. Best case scenario was likely matching her prior best DOTS, which she basically did (was 1 point less), and is a really good sign for things to come since she has already been able to increase her relative strength to match the body weight increase. Knowing where her DOTS would be compared to the other lifters, top 3 was the goal, and Christiane executed perfectly on the day to make that happen. I know she has been craving a meet like this since the Arnold 2023 and I’m sure this will light a bit of a fire for all of 2025!
