Meet Recap: Christiane competed at the USAPL Arnold Raw Challenge, back on her home turf in Columbus, and took home first place overall! Even though she was battling the flu, she had her best meet to date, PRing all 3 lifts and improving her DOTS by 11 points. Christiane rounded out the day with an AR 436lb. squat, 281lb. bench, and a 430lb. deadlift for a 1147lb. total and 556 DOTS. The move up in weight class has made a profound difference, as that is a 29.5kg improvement from Nationals. The strength has been there, but finally being at a more natural weight class has not only unleashed Christiane’s strength potential, but has really helped in improving recovery and working through some nagging pains she has had for a long time. Deadlift has been the long standing problem child, and these last 11 weeks leading into the Arnold have been a big turning point, and the performance on the day shows that. Christiane hit a 7.5kg PR on deadlift, her biggest improvement in years, and it feels like we finally have some really good momentum on that lift that will continue on post meet. After back to back to back meets, we finally have a little bit of a break (16 weeks) until USAPL Nationals, and will look to continue to keep the PR total streak alive there as well!
