Meet Recap: Demetria competed at the IDFPA World Championships in South Korea, where she was able to place 1st in the 48kg class! Demetria finished the day with a 292lb. squat, 193lb. bench press, and a 358lb. deadlift for a 842lb. total! This was Demetria’s first time traveling Internationally for a competition, and she did a fantastic job preparing and controlling the variables needed. Squat was probably the strongest lift on the day, and just narrowly missed out on 308lbs, which was probably just a pound or 2 heavy. Knowing she had a big lead over 2nd throughout the whole day, it was worth being a bit aggressive to see if we could hit some of our high end goals. For bench, I’ll let that press command speak for itself. Got what was there on the day based on the required execution. And then to finish off with deadlift, as I will mention in the next paragraph, it didn’t quite peak as well as hoped, knowing that Demetria had hit a pretty good 374lb. deadlift in training the block prior. Got what we needed to secure the win though, and a bit thanks to Solana on the day for traveling out to South Korea and offering to handle Demetria while she was there!
