Meet Recap: Dominique is your 2025 Powerlifting America 93kg bronze medalist! We knew coming in he was one of the dark horses for a podium position, and the plan went about perfect. Dominique was able to secure a 900kg total and a 3rd place finish in one of the most competitive flights we’ve seen in powerlifting. For his lifts on the day, he was able to hit a 716lb. squat, 485lb. bench press, and a 782lb. deadlift. The plan on the day was a total in the range of 900-910kg, which we knew likely would not be enough to win barring all of the big 3 had some mistakes. But, we also knew all of the big 3 were likely not going to have a perfect day, and if we could just continue to stack lifts that Dominique was going to be in a great place to capitalize on that in the end. I am not going to break down every detail of the decision making, because we actually have a really cool podcast coming out in May on @powerliftingnow where @theswolefessor, @hamstringpapi, and I break down all the gameplanning, scouting, and lift by lift decision making during the 83kg and 93kg session. But come 3rd deadlift, we were in a great spot to secure a podium spot, and there were legitimately 4 other competitors that we in some way were possibly jockeying with. When it was crunch time, Dominique executed and was able to secure his final pull to finish off a fantastic day. It is crazy to think a total that would have won Nationals and Worlds last year is 3rd place at Nationals now, but things are leveling up. Dominique has hit a really good stride lately in his training, and am very excited for the future battles to come. He has been overlooked for a while now, and Dominique deserves his spotlight this time around for being one of the 93s in the world.
