Meet Recap: Ethan competed at 2025 Powerlifting America Nationals where he was able to finish the day 9 for 9 in his first national meet! Ethan rounded out the day with a 556lb. squat, 325lb. bench press, and a 578lb. deadlift for a 1,460lb. total in the 105kg weight class. This had been Ethan’s long time goal to compete on the national stage, and after 4 years of working together he made it happen. Ethan actually qualified for USAPL Nationals 2 years back, but he had some big life events with his wedding and honeymoon, and those dates overlapped and had to delay the national meet goal a bit. I actually originally started coaching Ethan after he reached out in 2021 just to wish the team good luck at Nationals, and then just a year later flew out to Vegas to cheer the team on. So I was so incredibly excited to see Ethan get his moment this time around and be part of the team competing. And not only did he get to compete, he also had an even better day than I think we expected. Both squat and deadlift came in very strong, and knowing Ethan’s grind ability, he had a bit more in the tank for both. And for bench, we ended up going with the high end after he felt very strong on his 1st and 2nd attempt, and in typical Ethan fashion he pulled out a 5 second grinder to nail his 3rd attempt.
