Meet Recap: Kate is your 2025 IPF Masters World Champion in the M4 76kg division! This was the final piece of the puzzle to complete the wall of accolades in Kate’s collection, and had a fantastic day on the biggest stage. Kate rounded out the day with a 193lb. squat, 115lb. bench press, and a 253lb. deadlift for a 562lb. total! While this is her crowning achievement, the journey here was a big part of the reward. Kate walked into a commercial gym in 2018 to get a membership, and just coincidentally got assigned to me for personal training. Fast forward 15 meets and 7 years later, and she is a World Champion. And the journey in between those 2 points is what makes this so special. After unfortunately missing out in 2020 when Masters Worlds in South Africa got cancelled and she was supposed to compete, we had both kind of dropped the idea of competing at a World Championship, until this year seeing that Masters Worlds was again in South Africa, and that seemed to be a sign. I have gotten to do some cool things in powerlifting over the last 8-10 years, but this one holds a special place for me.
