Meet Recap: Kate is your 2025 Powerlifting American National Champion in the M4 76kg class! Going into this meet, the plan was simple, and it was to secure a spot on the Worlds team. Kate was supposed to compete at IPF Worlds in 2020 in South Africa, and for obvious reasons that unfortunately did not happen. After 3 National titles between 2022-2024, there was not much left for her to accomplish, and when we saw that Masters Worlds would be in South Africa once again this year, it was a sign. Kate accomplished the goal and received her invite, and is officially headed to Cape Town in October! Kate rounded out the day with a 198lb. squat, 121lb. bench press, and a 253lb. deadlift to secure her best total since she cut down about 3kg in 2023. This was Kate’s 11th meet, and the first I was not able to attend. And a big thanks to Arian on the day in helping her to feel confident and comfortable on the platform. Most people do not even do a 2nd meet, but Kate is headed off for her 13th later this year, with all of these coming at the age of 69 years old or later (now 75).
