Meet Recap: Kate competed at the Arnold in the USAPL Masters of Iron and had a near perfect day. Kate finished the day with a 198lb. squat, 121lb. bench press, and a 248lb deadlift to round out a 562lb. total! This was Kate’s 10th meet, and the growth she has had in competing since her first meet in 2019 is outstanding. She was on yet another big stage, but her composure was the best it’s been and had a blast on the day. Kate’s day was highlighted by an all out grinder bench press with 121lbs. We were not expecting to hit this on the day, but after her opening bench moved incredibly well, I bumped up her 2nd attempt to give her a shot on her third at 121lbs. She has hit this before, but that was when she was competing a weight class up, so this was a big win to finally hit this on the platform weighing in at 73.5kg. After being 8 for 8 on the day, we took a run at a deadlift PR and Kate had an all out grinder and was able to lock it out, but unfortunately just had a little bit of a hitch right at lockout that made it a no lift. Even so, it was another great day for Kate and was great to be back at the Arnold after unfortunately missing out last year.
