Meet Recap: Natalie competed at SBD Austin, where she placed 3rd overall with a 510kg/1,124lb. total! Natalie rounded out the day with a 408lb. squat, 242lb. bench press, and a 474lb. deadlift. I know this one meant a lot to Natalie, and I couldn’t be more proud of her resilience over the last year and half to get back to this point. I think that 3rd squat in particular was the “she’s back” moment, and she was not going to leave that platform without hitting that lift! The only missed lift on the day was her 3rd bench, and that was a calculated risk on my end. If she had hit 115kg on bench, it would have opened the door for the high end of our planned deadlift range (217.5kg) to chip her current AR total. So it was worth the shot, knowing worst case scenario she only loses 2.5kg off her total by not going 112.5kg. Deadlift showed out even better than expected though, and was my favorite lift of Natalie’s on the day. She had not hit anything above 210kg in training, and we did not know fully what to expect on the day. But she ended up pulling 215kg with likely another 5kg in the tank, and was a big breakthrough in confidence to be able to fully attack that kind of weight again. I am so happy for Natalie that she got to end 2025 by showing the fruition of all her hard work and ending on a big note. She has never wavered in her effort, taken the same wins along the way, and has crept back to set herself up for a big 2026!
