Meet Recap: AMERICAN RECORD SQUAT of 205.5kg/453lbs in the 75kg class for Autumm at the USAPL Arnold Pro Raw! We had many goals coming into this meet, but the American Record squat is one we’ve been discussing since Nationals of last year and Autumm showed up to the Arnold ready to battle! Autumm rounded off the rest of the day with a 242lb. bench press and a 429lb. deadlift for a PR total of 1124lbs! Come deadlift 207.5kg is what we needed to move into 1st place overall over Caitlin Berry on DOTs, and 2nd place was already locked in, so it was go for the win or bust. So we took a bigger jump (12.5kg instead of 7.5-10kg) on Autumm’s 2nd attempt to go straight to 207.5kg, as deadlifts were a bit off on the day and 207.5kg likely was not going to be there if we had to take something in between like 202.5kg. After not budging it on her 2nd, Autumm gave it a decent run on her 3rd attempt getting it to just below her knees, but it just wasn’t meant to be on the day and I’ll cover some thoughts moving forward about that in the next paragraph. This week puts us 14 weeks out from Nationals and fortunately this meet taught us a lot about what we need to do to come in and compete for the gold on June 10th. And one thing I can guarantee is Autumm will do everything in her power to make that happen, as her work ethic is 2nd to none. Her American Record squat is no fluke, she worked her butt off day in and day out every week since Nationals for that and I could not be more proud of her. I know there are a couple videos where you can see my reaction, and needless to say I was elated for her!
