Meet Recap: Robb competed this past weekend at the USPA Only The Strong where he was able to come away with a 1836lb. total and 3rd place overall based off Wilks, which gave him a little prize money to leave with! Robb finished the day with a 700lb. squat, 480lb. bench press, and 656lb. deadlift in the 110kg division. Some added fun and excitement came from the fact that Robb was in a battle all day with Kade to see who would come out on top. Anytime you can have a true competition come meet day it adds an element to the intensity of each lift that most powerlifters probably haven’t gotten to experience. A 1900 total was a possibility for Robb on the day, but on bench and deadlifts just a couple small hiccups kept that as a goal for a future meet to come. Deadlift in particular was a nail biter, as on his third attempt of 683lbs. his gripped slipped just a fraction of a second before receiving the down command. All in all though for coming off a pretty significant injury after his last meet, Robb was able to put together a great performance. And probably most surprising of all was how well his squat came together on meet day after having some struggles back and forth with knee pain throughout the last month!
